#MadeFromRugby – International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, we wanted to share the story of one player’s relationship with rugby. A story that champions diversity and inclusion in the game, from a British & Irish Lions Origin Club, introducing Shamaila…

Birmingham Moseley RFC’s Shamaila discusses the game she started playing around 10 years ago, overcoming injury, and facing obstacles to playing the game. Sham’s involvement in rugby led her to exploring the game, and how it plays a part of her life in the local community. But more interestingly, how one element of the game for Sham has reached further than the West Midlands.

“The whole purpose of us playing rugby is that everyone can get involved.”

There are 833 British & Irish Lions Origin clubs in the UK and Ireland, all known for producing game changing players. Whilst these players go on to become British & Irish Lion team members, some individuals in these clubs go on to change the game for the future.

Canterbury is the official kit partner of The British & Irish Lions 2021.
