Description

We're proud to present the 14th Queensland Reds Indigenous Jersey. The 2025 Indigenous Jersey will be worn by the Queensland Reds Men's & Women's team for select fixtures, this season. The jersey is a unique celebration of the last 125 years of rugby in Queensland, and features artwork designed by Madi Schuck (Queensland Reds Super Rugby Women’s Player). Madi hails from Turrbal Country and now lives on Yugambeh Country on the Gold Coast, where she calls home. Madi explains the inspiration for her work, as an ode to “Celebrating QLD Rugby”. The colours used are the QLD Reds club colours, blended in way to look like the summer sunsets we get in the State. Meandering through the middle, you’ll see the twisting Brisbane River, and the gathering circles linked at the centre, represent the pathways and grassroots groups that lead in, and make up, the formidable QLD Reds. Within the design you’ll find key symbols that represent the Ballymore; the Kookaburras, QLD Koala Siegell and goal posts. Also integrated, are significant moments from the club’s 125 years. Starting in 1882, with the first QLD rugby team. 1893, is an ode to Frank Ivory, the first ever indigenous player for QLD. 2012, when our first QLD Indigenous Jersey was launched, through to 2025, with our 100th game for QLD Women’s Rugby.
