Victory for the Western Wildcats

Canterbury would like to congratulate the Western Wildcats Hockey team after their emphatic display to win the Scottish cup. Their hugely successful cup run has seen them overcome a number of teams including Stepps, Watsonians, Menzieshill before beating Kelburne in a closely contested final. The Wildcats will be looking to add to their recent success when they travel to Rome to represent Scotland in the Euro hockey club champion’s trophy later this month. United Nations Assembly – New York

The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon is currently in New York where he is alongside the Rugby World Cup Trophy, the Web Ellis Cup. Meeting with ambassadors from 20 of the participating nations, the Secretary was presented with a USA Eagles shirt this morning as ambassadors posed with the trophy. Heather Small confirmed to join forces with London Wasps in their annual charity St George’s Day Game at Twickenham on 23rd April

London Wasps have today confirmed that British soul singer Heather Small will be part of their annual St George’s Day Game against Bath Rugby at Twickenham Stadium on Easter Saturday 23rd April.   The singer is best known for her signature song “Proud” which was a hit record around the world in 2000, as well as other favourites from her time in the band M People including “Search for a Hero”. Charity Abseil – The total so far…

Following weeks of preparation and fundraising from the team at the Ben Lei’a Charity UK, Canterbury of New Zealand’s CEO Chris Stephenson took to the abseil ropes on Sunday (March 20th) to take part in an abseil down St Guys Hospital Tower to help raise money and generate support for the charity.  Along with participants from various walks of life, including ex rugby players, journalists and the guys behind the charity, the teams set about raising a huge sum of money, £10,000 and counting, as the last groups to abseil... Springbok Sevens claim USA title in Vegas

This valentines weekend witnessed the South African Sevens rugby team capture their first HSBC Sevens World Series tournament title of the season.  Their dominant 24-14 victory over Fiji in the final took place in the early hours of Monday morning (UK time) as spectators saw a dazzling first half display with three tries from the Springbok Sevens.
